Back in 2002, Jennifer Lopez reached new heights on her third album, This Is Me … Then, heavily inspired by her relationship with a little actor named Ben Affleck. Now, Lopez is finally readying a sequel, This Is Me … Now, and it doesn’t take much to figure out who this one’s about either. In case you need to see it to believe it, This Is Me … Now will be accompanied by a film on Prime Video, which a press release describes as “an intimate, fantastical and narrative-driven reflection of Lopez’s journey to find love.” Not to be confused with J.Lo’s 2022 film Marry Me. We don’t get much more clarity from the trailer, except that this seems to fall somewhere between perfume commercial and Disney musical.

The album, meanwhile, will feature lovestruck songs including “To Be Yours,” “Mad in Love,” and “Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Billboard previously reported, along with “Dear Ben Pt. II,” a sequel to a track on Then. The penultimate song is even called “Midnight Train to Vegas,” a pretty clear reference to their surprise wedding in summer 2022. The first single, “Can’t Get Enough,” is out January 10. Lopez recorded the album — her first in a decade — between 2022–23, per Billboard, with producers including Rogét Chahayed, Angel Lopez, and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, not to mention herself. Other collaborators include Hit-Boy, Tay Keith, and Yeti Beats. After she first teased This Is Me … Now last year, the album and film will finally be out February 16, 2024. What better time to celebrate true love?

Jennifer Lopez is finally releasing new music!

On Nov. 25, the singer announced her plans to release This Is Me... Now, which will serve as a sequel to her 2002 album This Is Me... Then. The upcoming project will also mark her first studio album in ten years since A.K.A. was released in 2014.

In addition to penning songs about her love life and time in the spotlight, Lopez is also releasing an accompanying documentary film titled This Is Me...Now: The Film, which will serve as a "musical and visual reimagining of her publicly scrutinized love life," according to the release.

According to a press release, the upcoming album serves as a sister album to This is Me…Then, “completing a 20-year journey.” It's also described as the musician's "most honest and personal" LP yet.

Meanwhile, the film will serve as a "musical and visual reimagining of her publicly scrutinized love life," according to the release. “The film is ultimately a heartfelt ode to JL’s journey of self-healing and everlasting belief in fairytale endings,” the release continues. “Audiences will be captivated and leave hopeful that true love can be more than a dream.”

Lopez previously teased the album in November 2022, when she shared a clip of herself recreating the cover for This Is Me... Then, her 2002 ode to then-boyfriend Ben Affleck (the two would split up, then reunite and wed two decades later). At the same time, Lopez shared a 13-song track list from the upcoming album, which included a song titled "Dear Ben pt. II" (a nod to "Dear Ben" from the first album).

In November 2023, Lopez announced that the first single “Can't Get Enough” will be released on Jan. 10, 2024.

This Is Me…Now: The Film is directed by Dave Meyers, who has collaborated with a number of artists including Janet Jackson, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, and Pink.

Additionally, the film was co-written by Lopez and her husband, Ben Affleck, as well as Matt Walton.

Is there a trailer for Jennifer Lopez’s This Is Me…Now film?

On Nov. 27, Lopez shared a trailer for the upcoming Prime Video film, which features Lopez sitting outside in the rain as she reads a letter and tosses it into a fireplace.

The letter that Lopez threw in the fire was dated Dec. 24, 2002, and signed "B." It reads, "Life's tough but you're sweet. Thanks for the gift. Hope you like the flowers. You told me you could never have enough. I believe you."

The 37-second clip also features various shots of Lopez dancing and singing, including one of her walking down the aisle and another of her in a wedding dress featuring risqué heart cutouts.
