In this video, we’re going to compare the keto diet and the Paleo diet. Which is better for ketosis? If you want to get into ketosis on the Paleo diet, there are a number of factors that will determine if this is a possibility. It will depend on factors like your age, metabolism, and whether or not you have insulin resistance.

On the Paleo diet, about 30% of your calories come from carbs, while keto is only 5% carbs. Paleo also allows fruit, sweet potatoes, yams, and moderate amounts of honey.

On Paleo, 30-38% of your total calories should come from protein, while only 20% of your calories should come from protein on keto. Carbohydrates and protein both spike insulin.

If you’re on Paleo, you will likely have to lower your protein and carbs to get into ketosis. If you engage in vigorous exercise on a regular basis, you may be able to get into ketosis on the Paleo diet. In this case, your body will use up the excess carbs during your exercise.

The average person on Paleo may get into a slight state of ketosis, but the keto diet is a much better choice if ketosis is your goal.
