The poll finds President Biden struggling to gain approval from a skeptical public, with dissatisfaction growing over his handling of the economy and immigration, a rising share saying the United States is doing too much to aid Ukraine and broad concerns about his age as he seeks a second term. In his bid to become the Republican presidential nominee for a third time, Trump is in a strong position nationally despite facing multiple criminal charges. He is favored by 54 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is second at 15 percent, down from 25 percent in May. No other Republican reaches double digits.

Also, Dallas mayor Eric Johnson announced in a Friday op-ed that he is leaving the Democratic Party and becoming a Republican.

After that, Democrat Sen. Bob Menendez indicted on federal bribery charges. Menendez and his wife are accused of accepting «hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes» in exchange for the senator's influence, according to a unsealed federal indictment. Three people described as New Jersey associates and businessmen are also charged. All of the defendants will appear in federal court Wednesday.
