Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) says his bipartisan Prevent Government Shutdown Act would have given lawmakers leverage to reduce federal government spending. “I passed that twice in my committee. We wouldn't be worried about a shutdown…But members of the uniparty don’t want the Prevent Government Shutdown Act because that would constrain their out-of-control spending,” says Sen. Johnson.
