4TH OF JULY IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY…BY FAR!
However, July 4 isn't about an "event" that occurred in 1776. It's not like your birthday where people celebrate the day you were born. The United States wasn't actually born on July 4. We had to win the war first. We stated our "intentions" on July 4.

We celebrate July 4 to reaffirm our commitment to freedom and liberty. And it is a warning to our government. It was the start, the beginning a constant vigil. We didn't want to be told what to do, by anyone.

July 4 is a reminder of what Americans were prepared to do to achieve freedom, and what they are constantly prepared to do again. The Constitution is a pledge by the people to themselves to preserve freedom (speech, to bare arms, association, privacy) at all costs.

The government is the potential threat to that freedom which is why the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. Our government is like an animal that we keep caged up. We control it, but are armed and prepared to defend ourselves against it.

The Constitution is underpinned by the Bill of Rights which states that all Americans are equal, the founders believed, in their possession of natural rights, such as the right to life, liberty and property.

Today many people reject this equality of rights in order to pursue equality of condition through redistribution, or spreading the wealth around to use a famous formulation. This is destructive of liberty as the founders understood it.

We have equal right to: life, bear arms, privacy, property, liberty (freedom of speech, freedom of association) but we do not have rights to equal conditions or outcomes.

America’s founders knew, obviously, that human beings are not equal in terms of strength or beauty, or in terms of intelligence, industry or talents. They understood that because of such differences, differences in talents and things like that, some people would be wealthier than others

The historical reality of the Second Amendment’s protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not that it protects the right to shoot deer. It protects the right to shoot tyrants and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, with the same instruments they would use upon us.

When Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, he was marrying the nation at its birth to the ancient principles of the natural law. Those principles have operated as a brake on all governments that recognize them by enunciating the concept of natural rights.

As we have been created in the image and likeness of God the Father, we are perfectly free just as He is. Thus, the natural law teaches that our freedoms are pre-political and come from our humanity and not from the government. As our humanity is ultimately divine in origin, the government, even by majority vote, cannot morally take natural rights away from us. A natural right is an area of individual human behavior — like thought, speech, travel, self-defense, privacy, freedom of association, ownership and use of property,— immune from government interference and for the exercise of which we don’t need the government’s permission.
