Here's a little fluffy Friday feel good for you! 🐧😍
Little Penguin chicks, five-week-old Kipper and seven-week-old Fry, waddled their way to the Animal Health Department to have a check-up this week.
Both in good health and were microchipped, weighed and had a blood sample taken for DNA testing to determine their sex.
These little ones are particulary special becuase Kipper is the chick of 21-year-old Gordon, the oldest Little Penguin in captivity in Australia, and Fry is the chick Sticky Beak, who was rescued from the wild and brings valuable new genetics to the colony.
The pair will now live together in the nursery until they lose the last of their down before joining the colony on Penguin Beach in the old Children’s Zoo. Thanks to keeper Amelia for the cute footage. 🐾
