Enough vacationing already….it’s time for us to GET TO WORK on our homestead! We are so thankful that we got to take this wonderful trip through the western US and down Highway 1, the Pacific Coast Highway! We had such a great time and really got to know our rv :)

Hey! We are Douglas and Keri…follow us as we make the move from our urban home near Denver, Colorado to our off grid homestead property in Southeast Arizona.

If you are considering buying off grid or homestead property be sure to subscribe to our channel so you can follow our journey!

Many have said we are crazy for taking a road trip like this with gas prices as high as they are, but we thought what if the gas prices are even higher in a year or two? It also gave us a lot of down time to brainstorm and research what we will be doing on the homestead and really get into a good mindset after leaving our full-time jobs.

The states we got to visit were:

*Arizona where we stayed in Usery County Park Campground in Mesa as well as Sedona where we stayed at Rancho Sedona RV Park.
*Utah where we saw Lake Powell, Capitol Reef National Park, Escalante, Bryce Canyon, and Zion then headed north up to Salt Lake City and Antelope Island State Park and then the Bonneville Salt Flats.
*Nevada where we saw Wendover and hit some crazy winds and storms as we made our way into Oregon.
*Oregon where we stayed in a couple of beautiful campgrounds and then on to Washington State.
*WA State where we got to visit Keri’s family and our dear friends Mark & Lisa and then we headed up to the very NW tip of WA and started our official Highway 1 journey.
*Oregon (again) where we stayed at a very cool Boondock site called Blue Heron French Cheese which is a working ranch, farmers market, and gift store where you can buy local wines and other gourmet foods.
*California which Doug had never seen, so that was fun making our way down the twisty turns of the Pacific Coast Highway where we saw more family and also saw the Redwoods and some incredibly beautiful beaches! We discovered our dog, Willow, LOVES the ocean and Zoey, the Chihuahua, not so much :) We ended our California stay in Borrego Springs which is not far from the Palm Springs area. This hot/dry climate prepared us to get back to Arizona!

We are now staying in Arizona about 30 minutes drive from our property. We have officially started homesteading and are so excited to start sharing videos of the progress on the property with you!

Once again, thanks for following along with us and we hope to inspire you to live your best life, whatever that might mean for you :)
