In Burkina Faso, 10 members of the country's armed forces were killed and more than 50 were injured in an attack by al-Qaeda-linked Jamaat Nusrat Al-Islam Wal-Muslimin (JNIM) militants. The goal of the terrorists was the garrison in the city of Djibo.

The militants fired at the object of government troops with artillery mines, and then launched an assault. The servicemen put up fierce resistance and eliminated eighteen attackers during a shootout.
