What Happened to Bruce Campbell?
Ask Bruce Campbell, and he’ll tell you he’s “sick of over-trained heroes. I'm really bored with that. Guys that are just ripped to shreds and, you know, full of skills. That's boring to me. Give me the mechanic that picks up a weapon, you know? Now I'm interested. That's my hero. That could be me.”
Ash Williams of the Evil Dead franchise IS that hero. Part of the lasting appeal of the best character Bruce Campbell has ever played is that the audience can see themselves in him, like if they were pressed into fighting an army of Deadites, they could take up the mantle, the chainsaw, the boomstick, and mow down wave after wave of the undead masses. In this video, we take a look at Campbell's long career, from his debut in The Evil Dead through his brushes with fame in the nineties, through his awesome return as a character actor on Burn Notice and his return in Ash vs The Evil Dead!

What Happened to ROB REINER?
Once a meathead, always a meathead? Well, if you ask Fox News, Rob Reiner is more of a meathead than ever, spewing out his political diatribes and pushing an ultra-liberal agenda devouring anything and everything that is not left of center. And if you ask baby boomers, Reiner will always be Meathead with a capital M, his beloved character from ALL IN THE FAMILY. And if you ask a film connoisseur, they will say that Rob Reiner is a filmmaker who gave us some of the best flicks ever….until he didn’t. But, really, Rob Reiner – now nearly 60 years in the business – is an extension of both of these. Yes, he spends more time on REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER than he does working on genre-defining scripts but he has solidified his career enough with classics like THIS IS SPINAL TAP, STAND BY ME, WHEN HARRY MET SALLY, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, and MISERY that it almost doesn’t matter how much money-losing crap he puts out now…and there is a lot of it…and NORTH isn’t even the worst of it! So how did this man go from making a few great movies to defining and elevating our pop culture on so many different levels to suddenly pumping out nothing but heartless, soulless political garbage and rom-coms that are neither romantic nor comedic? So did this jack of all genres become a master of none? So let’s find out: WTF Happened to…ROB REINER?

Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead: A 90s Cult Classic?
It was a movie with a questionable title. A lot of critics were rough on it. Gene Siskel even called it one of the worst movies of the year. It came and went in theatres with few movie-goers paying any attention. But in the years since its release, it has become a beloved cult classic. With a legion of fans that love quoting its memorable lines. Some of its youngest viewers were drawn in by what they saw as a wish fulfillment concept: What would you do if the babysitter croaked on the first day of your mom’s vacation... so you had the house to yourself for two months straight? We get to see what the Crandall kids would do in the 1991 comedy Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead – and it’s time for this one to be Revisited.

What Happened to The Fall Guy (1981-86)?
The summer is starting off with a bang next week with the release of The Fall Guy, a big-budget action flick starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. However, some folks may not realize that it's actually a remake of a classic TV show from the eighties starring Lee Majors as stuntman/bounty hunter Colt Seavers. Seavers was a stunt-man by day, who supplemented his income tracking down bad guys, and the show was almost as big of a hit as Majors' previous hit, The Six Million Dollar Man. In this episode, we dig into how The Fall Guy came to be, how gorgeous co-star Heather Thomas became one of the biggest pin-ups of the decade, and how the new movie pays tribute to the show's lasting legacy.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare Movie Review
Guy Ritchie has had quite an interesting career over the last decade, but he's really settled into this period/action niche. And I'm all for it. If there's one thing I'll never tire of, it's Nazis being killed in brutal ways. They're the most one-dimensionally evil bad guy possible. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare gives us that in spades, with what feels like hundreds of them getting gunned down before our very eyes. It's absolutely glorious.

Back to the Future: Still The Greatest Time Travel Story of All Time
The year was 1985 when Super Mario Bros. took the Nintendo Entertainment System by storm; Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes debuted in newspapers, and two unlikely friends named Marty McFly and Emmett Lathrop Brown piloted cinema's most iconic time machine to a year when Panama hats and kitten heels were all the rage, 1955.
Fiercely protected at a level akin to Ghostbusters and Star Wars by millennials worldwide, Robert Zemeckis's Back to the Future sits enthroned at Nostalgia Mountain's top. The original film has spawned two sequels, a cartoon series, video game adaptations, a Broadway musical, and more. But how does it hold up by today's standards?

Civil War Movie Review: One of the Scariest War Films Ever Made?
A24 is the only movie studio I know of that’s picked up a cult following of its own. Their brand has become one of the most trusted among discerning film fans, delivering a slew of interesting, provocative movies that fit all genres. In some ways, they are a throwback to an older kind of filmmaking in that they’ve never focused on chasing franchises and have always been filmmaker-focused. They’ve always taken risks, and it’s paid off more than it hasn’t. However, their latest film, Civil War, is arguably their riskiest movie, sporting their biggest budget (north of $50 million) and subject matter that could be seen as a bit of a political powder keg.

What Happened to Road House?
There are a lot cult classics from the 1980s, but ROAD HOUSE stands somewhere near the top. Sure, many of its fans wouldn't label it as such, since they lovingly, legitimately and unironically adore it. But there’s no use in arguing it belongs in one camp over another or that it is unapologetically everything it sets out to be. But it – and its cult following – couldn’t have happened without a few broken ribs, a don’t-take-no producer and some late-night phone calls to a star’s spouse. Yes, it involves Bill Murray…
So, pour some suds and rip some throats because we’re gonna find out: WTF Happened to Road House, and no, not the Jake Gyllenhaal remake, but the original, Patrick Swayze, Sam Elliott and Kelly Lynch starring classic! Pain don't hurt.

What Happened to Monty Python and the Holy Grail?
After fifty years, MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL is still rightfully hailed by many as one of the all-time greatest comedies, and for a seemingly countless number of reasons: King Arthur’s “horse,” the corpse collector, the Black Knight, the outlandish animations, the rude French knights, an enchanter named Tim, the Knights who say “Ni” , a killer rabbit, the Holy Hand Grenade, and so and so on. But while the end result is historically hilarious, the filmmaking process itself was often pure misery for most involved. Get ready to storm the castle and find out What happened to this movie!

What Happened To These Cancelled Celebs?
No one wants to be “cancelled”, as it tends to be the kiss of death for any career. While some have managed to turn their lives and careers around to a certain extent, past misdeeds aren’t so quickly forgotten for some people. What Happened to Nobody?
Let’s be real. If you had to name the most badass action movie of the past few years, what’s the first flick that comes to mind? Yeah, John Wick might be all the rage for teenagers, Liam Neeson continues to do his geriatric Charlie Bronson, and you can never discount Jason Statham and his brand of brutal butt-kicking. But come on, as far as violently visceral and scintillatingly satisfying underdog tales loaded with realistic fisticuffs and gore-sodden gunfights - nobody does it better than Nobody! Indeed, the 2021 cinematic blitzkrieg starring Bob Odenkirk as an unassuming everyman by day and certified ass-kicker by night hit all the right notes to deliver a vicious and delicious revenge dish for the ages.
With that being said, did you know that a Nobody sequel is currently back in the works? Did you know there were discussions about making a Nobody and John Wick crossover movie? Hell, were you even aware that the movie's entire plot was inspired by a real-life home invasion experienced by Odenkirk? Well, we’re about to dig up all the buried bodies and hidden skeletons in Nobody’s past and give y’all a heaping dose of What Happened to this Movie. Sound good?

Raw Deal: Does Schwarzenegger's Most Obscure 80s Movie Need More Love?
Arnold Schwarzenegger made a whole slew of classic 80s action movies. Still, one remains totally obscure despite being released smack dab in the middle of his amazing The Terminator to Predator run for movies from 1984-87. That film in 1986’s Raw Deal. A formulaic 80s action movie, it’s the most modestly mounted Schwarzenegger action epic of the era, with Arnie coerced into starring to complete a long-standing contract with producer Dino De Laurentiis following Conan The Barbarian. It was a big box office flop but became a popular VHS rental. In this video, we dig into this obscure entry into Arnie's filmography and determine whether it deserves a little more love.

What Happened to Stone Cold Steve Austin?
In the summer of 1996, the World Wrestling Federation held their annual King of the Ring tournament. After weeks of matches, the semis and finals were set for June 23rd, 1996, with Stone Cold Steve Austin facing Jake “The Snake” Roberts for the crown later in the night. Roberts, then known for working in a Christian angle, would cut a promo prior to the match doing just that. Just before Austin took the ring and pinned Roberts, he was tipped about the promo’s contents.
After the five-minute match, Austin stood next to the same man who tipped him off, Michael Hayes. And it was there that a legend and a catchphrase were born, and an entire industry born again. With a mouth full of blood, Stone Cold Steve Austin told his defeated opponent: “You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere! Talk about your Psalms, talk about John 3:16...Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!”
But it could have never happened. Stone Cold wasn’t supposed to win; neither was Jake Roberts. The King of the Ring prestige – a launching point for a budding career – was meant to go to Hunter Hearst Helmsley, but this was yanked when he took the fall for the infamous “Curtain Call” incident, paving the way for a revolution in the WWF.
From there on out, Stone Cold Steve Austin would take what was his. But that’s hardly the bottom line...So let’s find out: What Happened to...STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN?

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Review
I was a big fan of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Jason Reitman’s film skillfully blended nostalgia with a new take on the franchise that opened up the Ghostbusters universe in an inclusive way. It welcomed new fans without alienating old ones, something the 2016 reboot notoriously failed at. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire seems to aim to build the franchise out more extensively. But, does planting so many seeds for future growth hamper the film? Find out in our review!

Road House Review: Does The Remake Hold A Candle To The Original?
The original Road House with Patrick Swayze is one of the greatest B-movies of all time and something of a staple as far as action movies go. Yet, the buzz surrounding Doug Liman’s remake starring Jake Gyllenhaal has been good, with many saying it's so well done that it should have gotten a theatrical release. So how does it fare? Here's our review!

What Happened to Christopher Lambert?
In deciding on our next WTF celebrity to cover, we passed around several names, but in the end, we all decided that: There could be only One! Despite being basically blind, Christopher Lambert made a name for himself as the king of Sci-Fi action films. Highlander (and the awful sequels), Fortress, Knight Moves, Gunmen, Mortal Kombat, The Hunted, etc. One could say he single-handedly kept Blockbuster Video in business, as most of his output in the 90s made its debut on the bottom shelves of the video rental chain. However, few performers have made their mark on the international stage, like Christopher Lambert, alternating between North American schlock and more prestigious French fare. Despite most of us knowing Lambert mainly for two iconic roles, there is a whole lot more to know about this American-born French actor; it’s time we find out just WTF Happened to Christopher Lambert.

The 25 Greatest Action Movies Of All Time
What are the best action movies of all time? It’s a controversial question, isn’t it? Any time any publication or site puts out a new list of what they consider the greatest action movies of all time, it can’t help but generate a ton of controversy. Nevertheless, we here at JoBlo have decided to throw our hats into the ring with a list we really hope generates some nostalgia among our viewers but also encourages them to seek out the movies on this list that they may not have seen. But first, some may wonder where superhero movies are on this list. Given how broad that genre is, we decided to stick to old-school action, so we have left them off the list, as they deserve their own ranking. There are also a few absences from the list, notably some Jackie Chan films, with those to follow in another planned list, so stay tuned!
Do you agree with this list? Let us know in the comments what you think are the best!

What Happened to Batman: The Movie?
No matter how many different iterations of Batman there have been over the years, some folks still see colorful words explode across their memory of the caped crusader: BANG! POW! CRASH! For as dark as the adventures of Batman have progressively become, there’s no forgetting the brief era when the universe of “Batman” was a cartoonish, campy riot, filled with tongue-in-cheek dialogue, scenery-chewing performances, and some very snug costumes. Comic books aside, it’s hard to believe that, for years, the TV show was essentially what people thought of when they pictured Gotham’s secretive hero, until of course 1989, when Tim Burton forever altered the way we view the Dark Knight.
The 60s TV show ran for three seasons on ABC, but the world got an extra dose of “Batman” soon after the first season concluded with “Batman: The Movie”, essentially a super-sized episode that brought four of Batman’s most famous foes together in one zany, candy-coated package. It contains some of the weirdest, wildest moments you’ll find in a movie about the Caped Crusader, so slip into your favorite spandex suit as we tell you WTF Happened to the very first “Batman” movie.

What Happened to ERIC IDLE?
Since the 1960s, Eric Idle has been reminding us to “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life”. More than that, he has made doing so a lot easier with his unique brand of comedy and creativity. Idle rose to prominence with his fellow Monty Python stars in the late 1960s and was a staple of screens big and small in the decades to follow. He has largely stepped away from the spotlight in recent years, which begs the question, “What happened to Eric Idle?” It’s nice to think he’s embraced the comforts of retirement, but the truth may not be quite so rosy.

What Happened to Ren & Stimpy (1991-96)?
I’m pretty lucky, I have lived through some major pop culture events. The Tim Burton Batman films changed comic book media, the birth of Image comics, seeing how Star Trek The Next Generation birthed a new fandom. But one of the biggest events was seeing how, in a few short years, animation would change forever. The Simpsons is one example of how cartoons started to break new ground. Yet there was one cartoon that broke the world of American animation. It was gross, it was crass, it was unlike anything we had ever seen. If the Simpsons were an explosion, Ren & Stimpy were the atomic bomb. Today many popular cartoons can all trace their origins back to an insane Chihuahua and a stupid big-nosed cat. It is undeniable Ren & Stimpy changed the face of animation. However the story behind the genesis of the show is full of rebellion, arrogance, and sadly…. pain. It’s a long and fascinating tale, so put on your Stupamatron helmet and get ready to learn about the origins of Ren & Stimpy in this episode of Gone But Not Forgotten.

WTF Happened to Hulk Hogan?
When you hear the words “professional wrestler,” whose face comes to mind? “Well, let me tell you something, brother...” there may be no more iconic figure in the world of professional wrestling than Terrence Gene Bollea. But you may know him as Hulk Hogan.
So WTF happened to Hulk Hogan? With a career that spans over 45 years, a lot. Let’s start at the beginning. But before we do, let’s keep in mind that the source of a lot of what follows is Bollea, himself. The complete record of Terry Bollea’s life is My Life Outside the Ring, his 2009 autobiography, which is more exhaustive than 2002’s Hollywood Hogan. In an industry stocked full of duplicitous people, Hulk Hogan’s long been considered to have perhaps the most strained relationship with the truth of any of them. But neither should we let the truth get in the way of a good story.
