New Hampshire Anticipates Total Solar Eclipse 100 Days Away

Residents of the Granite State and enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly awaiting the upcoming total solar eclipse set to traverse the United States in 2024.

New Hampshire witnessed its sole total solar eclipses in the last century in 1932 and 1959.

Scheduled for April 8, 2024, this eclipse will mark New Hampshire's first total solar eclipse since 1959.

The path of totality will extend across northern Vermont (including Burlington), southern Canada (including Montreal), northern New Hampshire, and a significant portion of northern Maine.

Communities in New Hampshire along the eclipse path encompass Lancaster, Stark, Northumberland, Milan, Dummer, Errol, Dixville Notch, and Pittsburg.

The total eclipse is expected to endure approximately 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

The peak moment in New Hampshire is forecasted to be around 3:30 p.m., with the rest of the state witnessing the sun obscured by 95% or more at its zenith.

Looking ahead, in 56 years, on May 1, 2079, New Hampshire will once again experience totality.
