OK House Common Ed Committee Interim Study on Sex Education - Part 2; Audrey F. Werner, RN, BSN, MA
We are uploading two separate videos from the original video posted to the House website from the Sex Education Interim Study in the Oklahoma House Common Education Committee, October 11, 2022. Part 2 is professor an nurse Audrey Werner, who teaches courses on the history of the sexual revolution and sex education. Audrey is an RN who served as a Public Health Nurse 14 years in a large County Health Department, 5 years as a school nurse, 9 years as a STD/HIV Clinic nurse and is also a former Sex Educator. Mrs. Werner talks about why she is no longer a Sex Educator and why she believes sex education is harmful to students. From her real-life experiences in public health, Audrey is able to back up the Oklahoma State Health Department data - as reported by Jenni White in the Part 1 video - that while pregnancy rates are declining, STD rates are skyrocketing. She also believes that the type of sex education instruction that is done today is at the root of the changes in these statistics. She no longer approves of sex education in the classroom.
